James D. Mallonee, 71, Rogersville, passed away at 11:10 a.m., Monday, May 28, 2012 in his home.
He was born September 22, 1940 in Springfield, Missouri, the son of the late Roy and Leta (Fulton) Mallonee. He was united in marriage on April 16, 1979 to Carol A. Shewmaker. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Allen Mallonee.
Jim was a U.S. Army veteran and life-long resident of the Rogersville area. He was a electrician, auto mechanic and home builder. He never met a stranger and was always willing to help his neighbors. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; a daughter, Annette King and her husband Bryan, Springfield; a son, Doug Mallonee, Ozark; a step-daughter, Debbie Rhyne and her husband Curtis, Springfield; two step-sons, Rick Houston and Joseph Graves, both of Ozark; a sister, Bonnabeth Andrews, Rogersville; two grandson, Dale Mallonee, Ozark; Nathan King, Springfield; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 1, 2012 in J.D. Lee and Sons Funeral Home, Rogersville. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield.
Visitation will be held from 6 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 31, 2012 in the funeral home.
